who cares about obnoxious looking characters? if you get owned by someone with pink skin and orange hair, they obviously had a better build than you, and you deserved to get owned. And if they desire rainbow hair and skin, why not let them have it?
maybe they should just add a caps lock filter. Anything typed more than 30% in caps should be filtered. RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO, is 25% caps, and would not be filtered. RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO is 100% caps, and should be filtered.

And Michael Jackson noses that fall off. That would be entertaining.

i'm for more customization in the game, but i agree with someone of you in saying that the bugs are more important right now. also, there is no way someone can create a character that is too crazy. for one, the devs aren't gonna let you pick pink or purple or red for a skin color, unless its the color or that particular race. hair color? i think there should be more colors but none like blue or green or some off the wall color.

Most likely the dev team will impliment more char customization in future expansions.I doubt they will add radical customization due to the fact it would detract from the fantasy setting and lower bandwidth significantly

The extreme RPG-ish character options are likely not to happen in GW. At least not any time soon. This game is already so different from other hardcore RPG's like Fable, Everquest, Morrowind, NWN, and many many others. Even all those games are very different amongst themselves when it comes to character customization. Changes like aging or weight gain/loss doesn't seem like it's high on the list for GW as it is more action/adventure game than RPG (though it is still strong RPG and im not saying it isn't one). Any changes I would expect to see would probably come in the form of new items, and perhaps a couple more character creation modifiers. Thaz all.
As for a dye vendor, there was one in Lions Arch last time I checked...
P.S. One thing I don't quite understand, are the dyes. Why have this one item that is soley intended for aesthetic customization and yet, all other aspects of customization are quite lacking...Though I'm all for the dyes, it just doesn't seem like they belong in the game (and instead of taking them out, I say make them fit by adding more items/NPC's dedicated to the same cause).

I'm not against customization in it's entirety, considering right now we have a certain degree to which we can customize the characters. But I would like to think that most people would rather focus on how the game plays rather than going out and looking at how *insert adjective* players are out there.
And you people need to stop thinking that I was the one who was suggesting, in any remote way, that there would be any "pink and blue" hairdoes for people to run around with. That sarcastic comment was made in reference to post number #17 by Agent Dark Bootie on this thread:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=1587
where 23 different things were suggested to add as customization, including this jewel...

but maybe, when customizing your person,... discolored skin(not like bright orange but maybe blue and teal and such)

or...

hair color 1; hair color 2?

So stop using that in your arguements.

Actually, I care alot about customisation. It can ruin alot of my game experience if a game has no customisation (I'm not saying gw doesnt, it's an example). Imo, at the game's current state, I think it could benefit alot from more customisation, benefit more than it can from alot of other things that are being discussed.

At the games current state, it could benefit a lot from being finished. We can worry about customization later (i.e. a few months after release, expansions), but for now, it's just not worth debating over this until we know how the release product is going to turn out. If you want to just fantasize, I'd suggest taking this conversation up in the Off-Topic and Absurd thread.

William you are right. Pack up the thread and move us...
But I LOVE to fantasize.. That is why I play games and read books and watch anime. Leaving the real world for them is such fun because the real world JUST SUCKS.
But I do love my wife and 2 son's. The boys though maybe that is why I like to fantasize. They drive me nuts.

sorry if i was unclear
^not sarcasm^
but, IMO, this was merely to say what people think about FUTURE changes
anything from one day to a few months from now
if there was a more applicable place to post it
it would be posted there
of course there are ALOT of more important things to do
but whats to say that we havent already covered those issues in the suggestion forum or that they are already working on it.
so instead of waiting, we want to talk about the future now.
and in doing this we can settle arguments (nonviolently) in time for when the devs are doing work in this area.
MAYBE THERE COULD BE A PLACE TO PUT ALL OF THESE CONVERSATIONS?!?!?!?!?
and when i said blue and teal
i meant HUES
i like blue-ISH and teal-ISH skin and im sure others do
i like ELF ears and im sure others do
if not then at least seeing others being happy with the fact that other people can say "i like your hair"
and such (ONLY AN EXAMPLE) i hardly think this is NEAR the most important and now that i think of it, it WOULD be better done in a later expansion
BUT maybe there needs to be an expansions area to post
so what if the game isnt even out yet?
that should not say that we shouldnt talk about it.
sorry for misconceptions

I think that the developers would have more important things on their hands (i.e. Bug fixes, expansions) than worrying about if your Warrior can have nipple piercings or not...

I agree that it's not a priority, but would like to lend support to those who'd like to see this develop at some stage. Look at the Dye market. 2.5K for a vial of Black Dye? Obviously, there's folks out there to whom the aesthetics are very important, and are willing to pay the price for that. Makes the add-ons more viable.
Npple piercings. Hmmm....
